We are part of the Chemistry and Molecular Biology team under Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Unit at GSK. We are involved with developing different cutting-edge vaccine platform technologies. Our role is to develop fit for purpose vaccine technologies for different vaccine targets.

The person in this role will work closely with other lead scientists in the lab on developing new methods for different chemical modifications of bacterial polysaccharide antigens to enable development of novel conjugate vaccine platforms.

• Pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or similar discipline.
• Hands experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Polysaccharide Chemistry or Chemical Biology.
• Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 6 month co-op (September 2026 ~ March 2027).
• Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

• Prior experience in organic/carbohydrate synthesis is preferred.
• Experience in analytical and bio-physical characterization techniques like: RP-HPLC, SEC-MALS, NMR.
• Strong ability to multi-tasking and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative and diverse environment as a team player with a strong work ethic.

• Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

• While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.

• This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits, Employee Assistance Program and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.

• In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.

  • Pay Rate Range: $22/hr to $43/hr
